Josie came to us from the local pound, where she arrived infested with fleas, extensive hair loss from a flea allergy, and most notably - she was absolutely terrified there.  We took her in and she is doing remarkably well and is continues to blossom more and more each day.  

Josie is still on the timid side, and will definitely need a home where she will know kindness, gentleness and love.  She is still overly sensitive to quick movements towards her or harsh voices, but even so, she will make a wonderful pet for anyone willing to show her the understanding she needs.  She is completely housebroken, does well in a crate, is fine with other dog, and rides well in a car.  The hair she is missing is expected to grow back and should soon match the rest of her beautiful black coat.  She also has the softest brown eyes that will melt anyone's heart! And that little bit of white around her muzzle is just her coloring and is not an indication of aging - she is only about 2 or 3 years old.  Due to her timid nature, we will feel better about placing Josie in a home without young children.
