An adoption is now pending for Fresca!

Our Fresca came to us from a local pound after waiting for about six weeks for someone to get her out.  We first thought she was a senior, but after closer observation and getting to know her a bit more, we feel that she’s much younger and the grayish hairs in her muzzle are her natural coloring, not the gray that comes from advancing years. 

Fresca is a fairly calm dog, though she will happily chase after a tennis ball and will bring it back to you, too.  Her favorite pastime is just hanging out on the couch with her human.   She’s a great size for anyone not looking for a lap dog but who doesn’t want a girl who’s really, really big, either.  

Her breed is anyone’s guess.  She’s got the coloring and the smallish ears of a greyhound, but has a smaller build and a fuller coat.  Some shepherd?  Maybe some kind of terrier in her?  A DNA test would probably yield some interesting results as we suspect she’s got a pretty diverse breed heritage. 

Fresca does fine with the other dogs in her foster home, but she doesn’t interact with them much, so she’d be fine as an only dog.  She is very calm and relaxed indoors and inside her foster’s fenced yard, but beyond the gate, she will pull hard on her leash and she’s pretty strong.  Therefore, we are recommending and hoping for a fenced yard for Fresca’s forever home.  

Fresca is a beautiful, sweet dog who’s easy going and laid back.  She’d a GOOD dog - mostly housebroken, doesn’t chew, etc.  We don’t know what her past was like, but she probably had a decent home at one point and someone who loved her.  She SO deserves to feel happy and loved again and from here on out!  Do you think you might be able to give her that wonderful “rest-of-her-life” that we’re hoping to find for her?
