A Little About Max:  Max is a (4 year old, I think??) Shih Tzu, Yorkie mix. He is currently being fostered by a K9 Behavioral Specialist, who is working on his resource guarding and aggression issues. He does have a bite history due to being overly spoiled, never exercised or given any sort of direction or structure.  He has made big steps forward in his training, but will require a special home where his owners continue to work with him, so he can be the funny, goofy, happy walking dude we know he can be.

What Max Needs: Someone who will not allow him up on furniture or in laps, as too much affection causes Max to get dominant, possessive and then aggressive. He used to get very possessive over his crate, his food and his toys.  Now, we see very slight possessive tendencies when he's in his crate and we make sure to correct it. He needs Someone who will enjoy him, but not smother him with touch.  Someone who is good with setting rules and being consistent with them. Someone who will walk him daily and go on adventures with him.

Max is good with other dogs, cats and chickens. He's good on leash.  He LOVES to walk and hike, he literally lights up, when he's out walking.  You just have to keep an eye on his hips, as they aren't in great shape. He still needs a lot of work in the car, but has gotten much better.  He needs to be on leash or in a fenced in yard.  He will visit the neighborhood if he's not on leash.

Max is not a Rose's Rescue dog and we will not be handling his inquiries or his adoption.  We are posting him here to help his trainer find him a new home as soon as possible.
