My name is Hope (aka Lil’ Scruffy Dog) and I am a 9 year old purebred Parson Russell Terrier, weighing 13 pounds.You may be familiar with my very close cousins, the Jack Russell Terriers. I was raised in a home with five little children ranging from 2 years old to 12 years and lots of other dogs. But my mom and dad got a divorce and they had to find homes for all of us. Thankfully, my breeder took me in and found me another real cool family. That mommy and I played a lot! I got to chase bags in Lure Coursing, hunt for rats in Barn Hunt, tunnel through mazes in Earth Dog, and jump for my toy off a dock in Dock Diving. Mommy got married and her spouse’s little boy took me Dock Diving too! I loved to do these things, but I wasn’t good enough to win prizes. That’s when they brought home a little sister. She was really good at Dock Diving and gave my mommy lots of ribbons. Mommy liked that, so she stopped taking me to play and my sister grew to be much bigger than me and picked on me a lot. I became very sad and frustrated. My sister and I fought a lot, so my breeder took me back to her house. She has real nice dogs, so I’m doing much better now! I’m still not very comfortable around other dogs because I think they are going to hurt me and take away my toys. Mostly, I just want to play and cuddle on the couch! I’m really easy to take care of because I am very healthy, and my coat does not grow long. I just need to be combed once every couple of weeks. If you want to be able to see my beautiful, big, dark eyes, you may want to trim my facial hair every couple of months, but I don’t care about that; I can see just fine. I hope that I can find a home to myself where I can give lots of love, cuddles, and gentle kisses!
