Hello Friends!

I'm Hiram, an approx. 3 year old Shepherd/Beagle mix, weighing in at apx 30 pounds. I bark like a beagle and have that beagle nose! I'm a mostly happy dog with bits of energy to play with my toys and run with my foster siblings in the yard, but I won't stay out very long when I'm by myself. I am a beagle and do need a fence, or I will follow my nose. I want to be sure you will let me back inside.I am good with children 5 and up. I'm house trained and will go into my crate overnight or if you have to leave for a few hours, but I would rather not. There is just so much to do! I love to cuddle and I give the best kisses ever! I will also always let you know if there is someone coming. I just let out my beagle bark! At the end of the day, after I've played and had a walk or other adventure, I lay on my dog bed or on the couch, sometimes with one or both eyes open, and think dog things... You know like, why do the skunks smell like that? or why do the squirrels run up the trees and I  can't? 

I am still learning my manners, like how to "stay", "down", "no", and "come". (I'm trying!) I just want to be a good dog. I'd love to meet you! Oh, I almost forgot... I don't like thunderstorms. They make too much loud noise.
