Meet Carmen - a typical Chihuaha in every way. She came to us after a brief stint in a local pound. She’d been a stray, and they thought there was a chance she might be pregnant; she wasn’t, she was just a tad bit chubby.
Anyone familiar with her breed would recognize that her disposition suits it to T. She’s only 13 lbs, but she acts like she’s large and in charge. She’s very sweet and is free with her kisses, but she will bark enthusiastically and ferociously at any person or creature within sight or hearing as if they were coming to storm the property. She’s a perfect little lap dog but will also expect to be the queen of her castle!
Carmen is housebroken, seems fine with other dogs, loves to cuddle next to you under a blanket (she sleeps in her foster mama’s big bed) and doesn’t need crated when her humans aren’t home.
She probably isn’t the best dog for a very young child, and we’d prefer her to have a fenced yard if at all possible. She’ll be fixed, get her booster shots and everything else she’ll need vet-wise on 3/31, and should be available to go to her forever home about a week after that.
Die-hard Chihuahua people will love this gal from the start as she really exemplifies the breed, but anyone looking for a spunky little lap dog will want to make her their own.
We expect quite a few folks to be interested in adopting this little gal, and if you’re one of those folks, you can easily fill out an adoption application by clicking here: adoption application. Remember that she won’t be ready to go home until about the second week in April.
For anyone viewing this on Petfinder, if you are interested in adopting this animal you will need to go to our website www.rosesrescue.net to fill out the online adoption application.
