An adoption is currently pending for Darla.

This young girl ended up at the pound as a stray.  She's very sweet, very affectionate, and just happy to be out of the scary pound and in a foster home.  Darla is a great size if you are not looking for someone too big, but want more than a little lap dog - she weighs about 30 lbs and could stand to put on just a few more.  We are guessing at her breed - it's possible she could have some Dachshund in her too.  Darla is right in between the designation of "young" and "puppy" as we don't think she'll get much bigger but she also seems to have a lot of puppy still in her.  We are guessing that she is probably less than a year old.

Darla just loves her foster sisters.  She enjoys playing with them and she has a fair amount of youthful energy, but she will not pester them when they'd rather be left alone.  Darla would do best in a home with lots of activity.  Older kids (she will knock down a toddler in her exuberance) and another dog or two would be ideal for her, and in fact we are only looking to find a home with her where she can have a canine sibling.  She gets very lonely if she is the only one home and has to be all by herself.
