Hi! My name is Shyla and I am looking for a forever family. I am a special needs dog because a lot of things people do scare me. I have had a rough start to my short year old life. I was found as a stray and spent many months at the dog warden's shelter. I was so terrified, I cringed in the corner everytime someone came by. When I am scared I growl and sometimes bark, so no one wanted to spend any time with me. I am thankful to volunteer James for seeing through my rough front, and taking me home with him. Since he could not keep me, a very nice lady came along and offered to foster me. Now I have learned to sit, play ball and even use the doggie door. My foster parents even crate trained me, and I run in there to sleep at night. I still growl and back away when something scares me, but I am learning, honest I am! My canine foster brother has been a big help in showing me people are not so bad. I will need a home with an understanding owner that is willing to work with me, and would love other canine brothers or sisters. I think human children would be too much for me to handle. I am young and so willing to learn if you just understand that I need to learn to trust you. I love long walks and lounging on the couch, so if you think that fits your lifestyle, here I am just waiting for you. I can be a very special friend for the right family. Shyla
