Star
Had to say goodbye to my girl Star. She was one of my foster fails. She did not get along well with other dogs. After many months she was able to coexist with my dogs, so this is where she stayed. She was the sweetest dog with people. She attended vacation bible school & went to visit the handicapped several times. After Copper left us she became my yard guard. No wildlife allowed in this yard. She was a good loyal girl & I miss her. Thank you Star for being there for me.

Parker
It is with a heavy heart that I tell you Parker passed yesterday. His lung cancer was very aggressive and I was truly blessed to see him 2 weeks ago. This is from Amy... Hi Darlene, yes.  I was with my vet for a couple hours, then got back to Midland around 7 and buried Parker.  My neighbor made a really beautiful coffin for him and I decorated the outside.     Thanks so much I can't believe he's gone.

Zoey
I sent a picture in December of Zoey in Canada  and you posted it for us. Sadly we put her down Monday. She was diagnosed with hemangiosarcoma In August and given a 3 month prognosis. We went to Vancouver Canada in November and thought we would not be able to bring her home.  But February 27,2021 she came home with us. She lived 3 more months - 6 months longer than prognosis.  The tumor doubled in size her final 3 months and she was having difficulty breathing.  She actually looked pregnant when she laid on her side.  But she never gave up her walks, even on her final morning we went on a short walk because she wanted to. She was such a good girl for 9 years- NEVER had an accident in the house. She had the loudest beagle howl, all the neighbors knew when we arrived home. Her tail was so happy, it would go in circles. I’ve never seen a dog do that so much.  Karen was a fabulous foster mom to treat Zoey’s heartworm- thank you so much. Thank Rose for us, Zoey truly was our best dog ever. Kathy and Paul

Brooke
3 days ago I posted a picture of Brooke and I. Never did I expect to post now and say Brooke passed away tonight at 6:46. I’m shattered my heart is crushed. Rest in Paradise Brooke. I am so sorry girl. I didn’t know you were so sick. Nobody did. Always remember sweet Brooke our motto heart to heart, soul to soul, we are forever.

Ben
“ My sweet boy, Ben, went to rainbow bridge Thursday. The day I adopted Ben from Rose’s Rescue will forever go down as one of the best days of my life. He was 5 years old, about to turn 6. A 90lb, rott/lab mix who was intimidating in looks and sound, but the most gentle giant in spirit.   I adopted him on Thursday, Sept. 1, 2016. It was tough sometimes because he had advanced hip dysplasia so I had to stay on top of his medications; he started out with 8.5 pills a day. Financially, there were some tough months. I often didn’t have much money to spare, but his well-being, comfort, and happiness always, ALWAYS came first. He became by protector, my best bud, the source of so many laughs, and provided me with countless precious memories.   He loved his toys. Specifically his blanket, nyla-bones, and rope (in that order). He loved to play tug of war with his rope, chew on/lay with his blanket, ...and straight up GNAW on the nyla bone for what seemed like hours.   When he decided it was his bedtime, he would get off the couch, take his blanket into the room, jump on the bed and fall asleep waiting for me. Of course he slept diagonally, so I always contorted my body to fit around his which resulted in many semi uncomfortable nights, but I always gave him a kiss and said goodnight before bed.   When he wasn’t chasing squirrels, he was laying alert in the yard looking for squirrels. I never needed a fly swatter because he would chase them around the house and eat them. He always howled at sirens. He loved dog burgers from Swensons. He loved going to my mom and dad’s multiple times a week for “daycare”...when we pulled into their driveway his tail would immediately start wagging. He got sooo excited when I said “wanna go?!” which meant we were either going on a ride or on a walk at Lion’s Park or Goodyear. He also didn’t realize how big he was....if you sat on the floor, Ben sat on you; blanket in mouth.   Along with the obvious things, I will miss all the small things like the sound of pouring his food in his bowl in the morning and the sound of him drinking water (which could be heard from any room in the house). I’ll miss his brown markings and the black spots on his tounge. I’ll miss calling him alllll the crazy nicknames I came up with throughout the years. I’ll miss the way he was in tune with my emotions and would stay extra close to me any time I cried. And I’ll most definitely miss the way his sweet soft ears would perk up everytime I said “good boy” and the way his tail started wagging the second he woke up in the morning. He was my sweet happy boy. Out of his 10.5 years, I was blessed to be his mom for 4.5 of them. I’m so thankful to Rose’s Rescue. This sweet boy changed my life and will live in my heart forever.  ?￰゚ヨᄂ? 11/18/10 - 4/22/21”
