Tucker
Our loving journey with Tucker ended yesterday. We rescued Tuck two and a half years ago from Roses Rescue. He came to us from horrible living conditions and abuse. For these past years, we loved him and spoiled him. He knew he was loved and I truly believe showed us gratitude every day with his adorable personality.
I held him close yesterday evening in my arms knowing he felt love as he left our family.
Gosh how I will miss him but will treasure the memory of this little dog who brought more sunshine to our family than I can put into words.
Chase that rainbow Tucker!
Eric
I adopted Eric the black flat-coat retriever from RR in 2008. He had been through the prison program. Eric had a stroke last Monday night and I had to have him euthanized at Metro in Copley. He was hands down the best dog / companion I have ever had. He was so well behaved, and gentle. People we amazed by how well trained he was and he was a beautiful boy. I miss him so very much. Can you please thank Rose for me for allowing me to adopt him and have him in my heart forever. I still have the letter from his handlers in the prison that trained him. I wish you still had that program. Thank you!
Farley
I’m heartbroken We had to say goodbye to Farley (previously Harley) yesterday. The cancer metastasized to his lungs. We bought a year having the tumor removed last January. Unfortunately, they weren’t able to get it all and it started growing back right away. The surgery recovery was miserable and we weren’t going to put him through that again. He was a happy boy with a healthy appetite right until the end and thanks to a mobile vet, I was able to hold him on our sofa with his favorite blankie.
Lottie
I rescued my precious "Lottie, the couch potato", in April of 2017 from Rose's Rescue. She was a senior dog, so we weren't sure how long we might have her. She has been such a joy in our lives for almost 4 years, the sweetest, most loving dog in the world.
Unfortunately, she was diagnosed with Cushings Disease in the past several months. We had to day goodbye to her yesterday afternoon because her condition had gotten worse and she wasn't eating anymore. My heart is broken. We are grateful for the years she blessed us with her love.
I just wanted to share that with you. I thank you for all you do.
Samantha
We had to put Samantha down yesterday. She had been diagnosed as having Cushings disease a few months back. Due to her age we opted not to do anything because they assured me she would not be in any pain. 3 days ago she got really sick with tarry stools and having mini strokes a lot of them. Took her to the vet and by that time she was really having mini strokes and blood coming out of her mouth indicating blood in the lungs. The vet said she was a very sick puppy and did not disagree when I said to put her down. I did not want to leave her in a strange place without us being able to reassure her and them poking and prodding and stuffing meds down her just to find out what I already knew. She was in fact dying. She had lost a horrible amount of weight and I knew it was time. She was 12 last November. I was not putting her through all of that and then have to go ahead and put her down anyway. I am heartbroken to say the least. I wanted you to know what happened to her. She was a beautiful dog and bossed us around for 3 years. We are devastated. We don't know what to do with ourselves now. You have a great day now and know she is at peace and doesn't hurt anymore. It was definitely our pleasure. She brought us many hours of joy. We are at a loss with nothing to take care of now.
