Loki
Sweet Loki crossed the Rainbow Bridge last Wednesday. I am heartbroken. He was such a good boy. Thank you Rose’s Rescue for bringing him into our lives.
Jackson
Jackson became part of our family after going through your cell dog program in 2008. He was the smartest, sweetest, happiest boy and we were so lucky to have him as part of our family fit the past 13 years. He crossed the rainbow bridge on March 2nd and we’re still heartbroken. Thank you to Rose’s Rescue and all it’s volunteers for helping people like us find their new family members.
Tasha
It is with a sad heart that I must let you know that we have lost our beloved pet Tasha.
She has been dealing with a lot of issues the last few months, and sadly we could not get her over this last event. The Vet tried everything, but x-rays showed a mass in her abdomen that was impacting her liver and spleen. she was in a great deal of pain this past week.
We were with her yesterday as we allowed her to go into a peaceful sleep.
We want to thank you again for all you do, and for allowing us to adopt her. We loved her so much, and she repaid us in kind every day. She gave us 9 beautiful years!
We will miss her!!
Bryce
On behalf of Jerry, Molly, and myself we would like to thank everyone for their kinds words and prayers on the crossing of the Rainbow Bridge of our boy Bryce.
Volunteers who have been with the rescue awhile may remember Bryce. He was a character and somewhat of a wild child. He was one that didn't show well at events due to an intimidating face but I always felt he had a sweet face. He was with the rescue a long time until we saw his video and that wiggle butt locked him in as ours. With some work on our part he calmed down and became the best dog. He had been fighting health issues for several years and finally decided it was time to go home.
We had a chance to lay on the floor and say goodbye before he crossed. The house is very quiet now without him talking and barking. He was a special one and he will never by replaced. We love and miss you so much but we will meet again someday. He is no longer in pain...run free sweet boy!
Indy
n 2009 we adopted, from Rosa's Rescue, a Cairn Terrier named Indy. I don't know if any of your present staff would remember him. I recall that his foster mother's name was Kathy. And, I think the person I dealt with at Rosa's was also Kathy. Not sure.
Anyway, Indy was the most unusual dog we have ever had. He didn't like us much; He had no desire to please us. He wouldn't even stay in the same room with us. And, absolutely, would not come when called.
He ran away at every opportunity. He became known as Houdini in our neighborhood. The most frustrating dog I ever had. I even consulted a behaviorist to get advice. I was close to asking Rosa's to take him back.
However, we all hung in there. Eventually, we took in our granddaughter's dog. A sweet little Yorkie mix. That totally changed Indy's attitude toward us. He was competing for our attention. We couldn't believe it.
Well, the good news is that he learned to coexist with us and actually bonded as much as his independent streak would allow. We came to love him and enjoy his unique personality.
This past November, he became ill and we knew that he didn't have much time left. We took him to Florida with us but his condition just grew worse. We took him to a compassionate vet who confirmed that it was time to say good-bye.
We tearfully did so.
If there is anyone on staff who remembers Indy (short for Independent) I just wanted you to know how much we loved him and appreciated that funny, unusual little pup.
